I made this game as a final project for the class Multimedia Design and Programming and had a lot of fun with it.
The game features the last dinosaur who needs to be saved from death to prevent global dinosaur extinction. The last dinosaur needs to avoid falling balls of fire and stones caused by the asteroid attack. To survive in the apocalypse, he needs to catch falling food items and increase his health level. Every time the health level reaches its maximum, the dinosaur gets another egg - an equivalent of life. As soon as the dinosaur gets 10 eggs, the future of his race is safe and sound and the game is won. If the dinosaur runs out of eggs, the race gets extinct and the game is lost.
To acommodate various player skills, the game has 3 levels:
The controls for the game are very simple. To dodge threats and catch the food items, the user uses arrow keys on their desktop keyboard:
Inspired by this crocodile character from my childhood favorite Soviet cartoon , I created a dinosaur that is animated by simple and playful hand-drawn lines. These animations were designed for various dinosaur behaviors, such as running, standing still, eating the food, getting hurt, as well as winning and dying.
I implemented the game using Adobe Director - multimedia application software. All the programming was done in Lingo.
